Enid-Sian Hughes was a founder of the Choir with her mother Beatrice Alsop Jones on November 18th 1985.
Sian started her musical career at the Welsh College of music and drama where she attained her advanced teaching certificate.
She then took a course at the senior teacher college of education and gained NVQ2, so that she could teach as teachers assistant in music.
She is also qualified as a tutor in adult education.
Sian was awarded a Bridgend CBC Mayor award on the 10th March
2011 for her effort in voluntary acting as musical director and forming the
childrens choir, without any financial rewards except her belief in helping the
children. In June 2012 Sian was a guest of Her Majesty the Queen at the garden party in Buckingham Palace in recognition of her work with the Childrens Choir and Community activities
Ryan Wood became the accompanist for the choir in 1993 at the age of 13 and has given 17 years of faithful service to the Childrens Choir.
We are very grateful to Ryan and wish him all the best for his new ventures, one of which is the Musical director of Noteworthy mixed choir .
Beatrice Alsop-Jones was a founder of the Choir with
her daughter Enid-Sian Hughes on November 18th 1985.
The choir started with twelve choristers.
Beatrice is an Associate of the London College of Music
since qualifying has taught many pupils how to play the piano.
Included in the list is the previous accompanist of the choir Ryan Wood.
Before forming the choir she was the deputy accompanist for the
Maesteg Opera Company.
However, due to ill health Beatrice is now unable to have so much invovlement with the choir but supports us still in so many ways and she will always be an important person to us.
